It took a couple of sleepless nights for the Task Force on Youth Development (TFYD) to stage “The Royal Assembly,” a joint general gathering and Christmas party for TFYD and the Barangay Council for the Protection of Children (BCPC) on December 28, 2015 (Monday) at the Saret Covered Court.

With a PhP 60,000.00-budget from Captain John “Jojo” M. Abad and his council, namely, Kagawads Luisito “Tata” Z. Ludovica, Edgar “Junjun” S. Macario, Jr., Jhorwin D. Santos, Charlie O. Mangune, Ernesto “Ernie” S. Custodio, Filomena “Luming” V. de Guzman and Roberto “Bobby” B. Miras, TFYD and BCPC were able to provide packed dinner and raffle prizes to over 465 attendees who started arriving and registering at 5:00 PM.

More than three hours after, “The Royal Assembly” opened with a doxology performed by representatives of different youth organizations in Batasan Hills, the rendition of the Philippine National Anthem led by selected members of the BCPC Participation Committee, and some engaging welcome remarks from TFYD mover, Miss Angela S. Naco.

Each of the council members present in “The Royal Assembly” was given the opportunity to deliver Christmas messages for the audience and was surprised by TFYD with a Certificate of Appreciation for the former’s endless support and unconditional guidance to the latter all year-round. In chronological order, to wit,

Kgd. Macario

Kgd. Mangune

Kgd. Miras

Kgd. Custodio

Kgd. de Guzman

Kgd. Ludovica

Capt. Abad

Also awarded with Certificates of Appreciation were TFYD’s mentors, Barangay Secretary Edwin P. Misolas and Mr. Jude Fortes, a barangay employee.

Among the highlights of “The Royal Assembly” were: the reporting done by TFYD and BCPC regarding their accomplishments for the year 2015; the mass oath-taking of various youth organizations presided by Capt. Abad; and, the handing of Certificates of Recognitions duly signed by Capt. Abad and Kgd. de Guzman, TFYD overseers, to active youth arms.

The unity of the BCPC and the diversity of the youth were showcased in this grandiose event in numerous forms of talent demonstrations.

Spicing up the magnificence was a search for the night’s king and queen. Crowned as King of the Night was a member of the Senatorial Youth Council of Leaders (SYCL). Queen of the Night, on the other hand, was from Bayanihan Youth Organization (BYO). Special citations were accorded to the ‘Darling of the Night,’ ‘Best Attire,’ ‘Most Photogenic,’ and ‘Best in Q&A.’

The program was hosted by Mr. Ronald Allan “Rhanie” Barbo, one of the staff members of 2nd District Councilor Ranulfo “Rannie” Z. Ludovica.
