Lupon Tagapamayapa’s (people who comprise the barangay justice system) work hand-in-hand with the Barangay Council for the Protection of Children (BCPC) in sweeping dirt, picking up litters and declogging canals along Masbate Street in Luzviminda Village in the morning of February 21, 2016 (Sunday).
Lupon Tagapamayapa’s constitute the committee that decides disputes and other matters. They do not constitute a court as they do not have judicial powers. In the case of Batasan Hills, Lupon Tagapamayapa’s are overseen by Captain John “Jojo” M. Abad and Barangay Secretary Edwin P. Misolas.
BCPC, on the other hand, is a body that ensures the promotion and protection of children’s well-being and welfare. Ideally, a functional BCPC creates a caring environment wherein children fully enjoy their rights, are protected and reared in a society that provides wholesome and proper child development. In Batasan Hills, BCPC is chaired by Capt. Abad and Kagawad Edgar “Junjun” S. Macario, Jr.
