Haligi ng mga Barangay Mini-Olympics 2015 Opens

Batasan Hills’s Muse in the Top 12

The annual sports fest sponsored by the Liga ng mga Barangay sa Quezon City (League of Barangays in QC) opened on November 4, 2015 (Wednesday) at 9:00 AM at the Amoranto Theater, Sct. Chuatoco Street, Diliman. Liga ng mga Barangay sa QC is a formal association of all barangay captains in QC where its elected president holds a seat in the city hall as a councilor.

Councilor Ricky B. Corpuz, incumbent Liga ng mga Barangay sa QC president, chose “Haligi ng mga Barangay Mini-Olympics 2015” (Pillars of Barangays Mini-Olympics 2015) as name of this year’s sports fest, highlighting H and B – the initials of Mayor Herbert Constantine “Bistek” M. Bautista. Its theme Husay sa Bowling at Billiards (Skills in Bowling and Billiards) also bears the mayor’s initials.

Vice Mayor Ma. Josefina “Joy” Belmonte-Alimurung congratulated Liga ng mga Barangay sa QC and wished all bowling and billiards players the best of luck in the entire inter-barangay season. She also took pride in announcing the top 12 muses who’d compete as finalists for the Best in Muse title. Batasan Hills’s very own, Danica, ended in the list.

Representing Batasan Hills in the mini-olympics are Captain John “Jojo” M. Abad, Kagawad Jhorwin D. Santos, Barangay Secretary Edwin P. Misolas, Public Relations Officer (PRO) Jose “Joe” Frias, Lupon Tagapamayapa Benjie Martin, Purok Leader Arvin Dimzon and office staff Merlita “Merly” Llanera.
