All of the 170 first graders, residing in the third cluster of Batasan Hills, giggled when handed with a backpack, a plastic envelope, a pad paper, a notebook, a pencil, an eraser, a ruler, a box of crayons and a sharpener from “Gamit Mo, Sagot Namin” on June 2, 2016 (Thursday) at the Kalusugan Covered Court.
“Gamit Mo, Sagot Namin” is the back-to-school project of Captain John “Jojo” M. Abad, his council and the Task Force on Youth Development (TFYD) where children, who are identified by their respective Purok (Area) Leaders as belonging to indigent families, are provided with school supplies.
It is note-worthy to mention that Mr. Lopez “Jong” Z. Ludovica, Jr., Cluster 3 Head, was hands-on in the identification of the beneficiaries. His wife, Mrs. Arlene V. Ludovica, Barangay Liaison Officer, supervised the registration.
The joyful event, which was emceed by Purok Leader Tess Nator, began with an opening prayer at 8:30 AM.
Inspirational messages were heard from:
Kagawad Luisito “Tata” Z. Ludovica;
Kgd. Edgar “Junjun” S. Macario, Jr.;
Kgd. Ernesto “Ernie” S. Custodio;
Kgd. Roberto “Bobby” B. Miras; and,
Miss Charo Mangune, who represented her father, Kgd. Charlie O. Mangune.
These speakers, along with Kgd. Filomena “Luming” V. de Guzman, Barangay Secretary Edwin P. Misolas and the TFYD, distributed the giveaways.
