Each of the 150 Grade 1 pupils, residing on Jasmin Street, was exultant to be gifted with a backpack, a plastic envelope, a pad paper, a notebook, a pencil, an eraser, a ruler, a box of crayons and a sharpener from “Gamit Mo, Sagot Namin” on June 1, 2016 (Wednesday) at the JASCA Covered Court.

“Gamit Mo, Sagot Namin” is the back-to-school project of Captain John “Jojo” M. Abad, his council and the Task Force on Youth Development (TFYD) where children, who are identified by their respective Purok (Area) Leaders as belonging to indigent families, are provided with school supplies.

The short program, which was hosted by Purok Leader Tess Nator, began with a registration of beneficiaries. Spotted among the Registration Committee members were Barangay Secretary Edwin P. Misolas and Liaison Officer Arlene V. Ludovica.

Motivational speeches were delivered by:

Capt. Abad;

Kagawad Edgar “Junjun” S. Macario, Jr.;

Kgd. Ernesto “Ernie” S. Custodio;

Kgd. Filomena “Luming” V. de Guzman; and,

Miss Charo Mangune, who represented her father, Kgd. Charlie O. Mangune.

These speakers, along with Kgd. Jhorwin D. Santos, Kgd. Roberto “Bobby” B. Miras and the TFYD, distributed the giveaways.
