Homeowners’ Association (HOA) presidents of neighborhoods under the Philippine government’s Community Mortgage Program (CMP) and the National Government Center (NGC) Eastside Development Project received a kilogram of ham each as Christmas present from Batasan Hills’s Captain John “Jojo” M. Abad and his council.
CMP is a mortgage financing program of the Social Housing Finance Corporation (SHFC) which assists legally organized associations of underprivileged and homeless citizens to purchase and develop a tract of land under the concept of community ownership. The primary objective of the program is to assist residents of blighted areas to own the lots they occupy, or where they choose to relocate to and eventually improve their neighborhood and homes to the extent of their affordability.
NGC Eastside Development Project, on the other hand, is the declared site open for disposition to bona fide residents and local government or community facilities, charitable, educational and religious institutions actually occupying the same for socioeconomics, civic and religious purposes.
250 bags of hams were distributed on December 28, 2015 (Monday) by tasked barangay employees, namely, Vilma Monahan, Alou Dizon, Tess Nator, Joel Bernardo, Floro Quiminales, Mark Christian Azaña, Freda Talatayod, Soledad Merdegia and Rigor Cinco.
