The website team had an opportunity to converse with Captain John ”Jojo” M. Abad in his office on June 24, 2016 (Friday) – two days before his 41st birthday. Santos steered Batasan Hills into the “Haligi ng mga Barangay Mini-Olympics 2015” (Pillars of Barangays Mini-Olympics 2015) – Husay sa Billiards (Skills in Billiards) semi-finals with a thrilling victory over representatives from Barangay Nagkaisang-Nayon on November 23, 2015 (Monday) at 2:00 PM at the Playdium Bowling And Billiard, 26 Tagupo Street Corner G. Araneta Avenue, Quezon City.

The annual sports fest sponsored by the Liga ng mga Barangay sa Quezon City (League of Barangays in QC) opened on November 4, 2015 (Wednesday) at 9:00 AM at the Amoranto Theater, Sct. Chuatoco Street, Diliman. Liga ng mga Barangay sa QC is a formal association of all barangay captains in QC where its elected president holds a seat in the city hall as a councilor.
Batasan Hills Council, namely: Captain John “Jojo” M. Abad; Kagawads Luisito “Tata” Z. Ludovica, Edgar “Junjun” S. Macario, Jr., Jhorwin D. Santos, Charlie O. Mangune, Ernesto “Ernie” S. Custodio, Filomena “Luming” V. de Guzman and Roberto “Bobby” B. Miras; and, Barangay Secretary Edwin P. Misolas, celebrated with Quezon City (QC) officials and other prominent people at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Cubao in the evening of October 19, 2015 (Monday). Dubbed as “Manuel L. Quezon Gawad Parangal,” the awards night was carried out in honor of QC’s 76th anniversary after being founded in 1939.
There have been numerous gestures of generosity and concern that Captain John “Jojo” M. Abad has been showing the constituents of Batasan Hills ever since his reign as barangay chairman. To Capt. Abad, these acts may be very simple. For ordinary citizens, however, these greatly matter!
A total of 1,247 residents benefited from the most recent satellite registration conducted by the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) at the Saret Covered Court and the barangay hall on October 3 and 4, 2015.
