Captain John “Jojo” M. Abad
Kaagapay ng Batasan Hills (KBH) Cares, Inc., the regular ‘girl Friday’ of Captain John “Jojo” M. Abad in his mass feeding programs and a community-based organization, has recently shown the essence of “bayanihan” when its officers and members joined forces to construct a drainage system along Kalayaan C Extension on January 24, 2016 (Sunday).
A groundbreaking ceremony held on Ilang-ilang Street on January 7, 2016 (Thursday) at 3:00 PM marked the first day of construction of a two-storey multi-purpose hall. This infrastructure project was made possible by the Working Couple – 2nd District Representative Winston “Winnie” T. Castelo and 2nd District Councilor Precious Hipolito Castelo – through the joint efforts of: Batasan Hills’s Captain John “Jojo” M. Abad and his council; and, Mindanao Homeowners’ Association (HOA) under the presidency of Czar Cagampang.
Residents on Bayanihan Street in Area A, Sitio Talanay showed the true essence of “bayanihan” when adults and children alike worked hand-in-hand in concreting the walkway and staircase along the said street in the whole month of December 2015.
Kagawad Charlie O. Mangune elevated recreation among residents and passersby along IBP Road in Batasan Hills in the afternoon of December 26, 2015 (Saturday). The Transportation and Communication Committee co-chairman served as catalyst for 2nd District Councilor Precious Hipolito Castelo to provide a backboard for basketball lovers.
Kagawad Ernesto “Ernie” S. Custodio, co-chairman of the Committee on Education, and his team of barangay employees and volunteers displayed the real essence of bayanihan when they hand-in-hand renovated Pinasama Day Care Center, located in Kalayaan C Extension, on November 21 to 23, 2015 (Saturday to Monday).
The asphalting of the main road in Pook Pag-asa successfully culminated before October 2015 ended. Children now safely play on the outdoor surface. Drivers now enjoy a quiet and smooth ride while passing by.
Yakap Day Care Center which was situated on Luzon Street in Luzviminda Village got recently demolished to give way to the construction of the three-storey Luzviminda Community Center.
The barangay hall in Saret Street, Area A, Sitio Talanay seats the local government of Batasan Hills. As such, it has always been open to all constituents day in, day out. It serves as second home to residents for interactions and businesses with the Philippine administration, for legislative and social concerns, for refuge, and for so many other matters. It is, therefore, part of the barangay council’s advocacy to ensure that the barangay hall is well-maintained and consistently beautified.
A groundbreaking ceremony held at the corner of Kalusugan and Kagandahan Streets in Kalayaan A, Batasan Hills on September 24, 2015 (Thursday) at 4:00 PM marked the first day of construction of a covered basketball court. This infrastructure project was made possible by the Working Couple – 2nd District Representative Winston “Winnie” T. Castelo and 2nd District Councilor Precious Hipolito Castelo – through the joint efforts of: Captain John “Jojo” M. Abad and his council; and, a handful of homeowners’ association (HOA) presidents, namely, Milagros Gealogo (Kasamaka), Asuncion Orebia (Bagong Pag-asa), Julita dela Cruz (Nagkaisa) and Nelia Casuela (Pioneer).
