Barangay employees ensure safety and orderliness in the conduct of an earthquake drill at President Corazon C. Aquino Elementary School (PCCAES) along IBP Road on August 26, 2015 (Wednesday).
Bearing in mind all the pieces of advice pointed out by Captain John “Jojo” M. Abad in the assessment that happened after the July 25 (Saturday) dry-run, the barangay employees and nearby residents of Batasan Hills executed a close to perfect shake drill on July 30, 2015 (Thursday) at 10:30 AM at the barangay hall. The “Shake Drill” was in participation to the metro-wide earthquake drill to test everyone’s disaster response should a powerful quake strike the metropolis.
In preparation for the metro-wide daytime and night-time earthquake drills set on July 30, 2015 (Thursday), Batasan Hills Captain John “Jojo” M. Abad mandated a dry-run for the barangay employees and nearby residents which happened on July 25 (Sunday) at 9:20 AM at the barangay hall.
With all the disaster preparedness thrusts the national and the city governments are exerting, Batasan Hills Council, headed by Captain John “Jojo” M. Abad, encourages school administrators to conduct earthquake drills in their respective institutions. These drills must be preceded by symposia that shall orient students, teachers and staff how to react when an earthquake strikes.
The Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Committee (BDRRMC) volunteers, chaired by Captain John “Jojo” M. Abad and Kagawad Roberto “Bobby” B. Miras, roam around areas in Batasan Hills which are identified by the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) as landslide-prone. BDRRMC members, as they speak with the concerned residents, are duly assisted by the following:
20 Traffic Enforcers, alias Tigers, and Barangay Public Safety Officers (BPSOs), alias Bravo’s and/or Eagles, graduate from a Search and Rescue Training for Community Responders held at Alta Roca Mountain Resort in Antipolo City, Rizal on June 18 to 19, 2015.
