Heads of all barangay-based fire brigades were invited to a meeting by the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) at the City Treasurer’s Office in Quezon City Hall on December 2, 2015 (Wednesday) from 1:00 to 5:00 PM. The primary agendum of the conference was BFP’s proposal to create a team of city representatives to the National Volunteer Fire Council (NVFC).
NVFC represents the interests of the volunteer fire, Emergency Medical Services (EMS), and rescue services. The NVFC serves as the voice of the volunteer in the national arena and provides tools, resources, programs and advocacy for first responders across the nation.
Upon the endorsement of Captain John “Jojo” M. Abad, Purok (area) Leader Arvin Dimzon, officer-in-charge of the Batasan Hills Fire Brigade, participated in the dialogue.
Quezon City Fire District Superintendent Jesus P. Fernandez and Mayor Herbert Constantine “Bistek” M. Bautista’s Chief-of-Staff Mr. Aldrin Cuña were the speakers in the affair.
