170 Children from 9 Different Areas get Free School Supplies

170 incoming Grade 1 pupils from Pook Pag-asa, Accibal Compound, Star Homeowners’ Association (HOA), Sitio 1 Kaliwa, Soldiers Home, Battalion Street, Presidential Extension, Sitio San Gabriel and Lunduyan gathered together at the Consti Covered Court on June 2, 2016 (Thursday) at 10:30 AM to accept the school supplies that Captain John “Jojo” M. Abad, his council and the Task Force on Youth Development (TFYD) prepared for them.

Labeled as “Gamit Mo, Sagot Namin,” Batasan Hills’s back-to-school program entitles poor but deserving students to a backpack, a plastic envelope, a pad paper, a notebook, a pencil, an eraser, a ruler, a box of crayons and a sharpener each.

A solemn prayer, led by Purok (Area) Leader Rosalinda “Linda” Gabriel, marked the start of the short program which was emceed by Purok Leader Tess Nator.

Then, the kids listened to inspiring words from:

Capt. Abad;

Kagawad Jhorwin D. Santos;

Kgd. Filomena “Luming” V. de Guzman; and,


Miss Charo Mangune, Kgd. Charlie Mangune’s daughter and representative.

The aforementioned officials, along with: Kgds. Luisito “Tata” Z. Ludovica, Edgar “Junjun” S. Macario, Jr., Ernesto “Ernie” S. Custodio and Roberto “Bobby” B. Miras; and, Barangay Secretary Edwin P. Misolas distributed the gifts.
